Oct. 3-13: Minnesota State Mankato's 2024-25 Mainstage Theatre Season Opens with 'Cabaret'

MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Performing Arts will open the Mainstage season with the iconic musical “Cabaret.” The production features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Joe Masteroff.

Step into the seductive world of 1930s Berlin and experience the unforgettable musical masterpiece, “Cabaret.” Set against the backdrop of a city pulsating with life, political tensions rise and the shadows of fascism loom, as “Cabaret” delves into the complexities of love, desire and the human spirit in the face of adversity.

This production features a cast of Kit Kat Club Dancers, a scene design that invites the audience into the club, and Musical Director Nicholas Wayne interacting with the cast as he leads the live orchestra.

“Cabaret” runs Oct. 3-5 & and 10-12 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 12-13 at 2 p.m. in the Ted Paul Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Tickets are $24 regular, $21 for seniors ages 65 and older, children under 16 and groups of 15 or more; and $5 for MSU students. Season ticket packages are still available for purchase and are only $100 for two musicals, five plays and two dance concerts.
