May 6-7: 1,700 Minnesota State Mankato Students to Participate in 2022 Spring Commencement Ceremonies

Mankato, Minn. – Approximately 1,700 Minnesota State University, Mankato students will participate in six spring commencement ceremonies on Friday and Saturday, May 6-7 in Taylor Center’s Bresnan Arena.

On Friday, commencement ceremonies will be held at 3 p.m. for the College of Business and at 5:30 p.m. for the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

On Saturday, commencement ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m. for the College of Science, Engineering & Technology, at 11:30 a.m. for the College of Education, at 2 p.m. for the College of Allied Health & Nursing and at 4:30 p.m. for the College of Arts and Humanities.

Candidates for graduate degrees will graduate with the college of their affiliation.

The ceremonies are not ticketed events, and there are no restrictions on numbers of guests who may attend for each graduate. Live-streaming captioning services will be provided for each ceremony.

Douglas Snapp and Michael Olson, faculty members in Minnesota State Mankato’s Department of Music, will arrange the processional music at the six ceremonies.

The national anthem will be performed at the ceremonies by the following graduating students from the College of Arts and Humanities: Daniel Walker (3 p.m. Friday); Madalynn (Mady) Koehler (5:30 p.m. Friday); Kayla Otto (9 a.m. Saturday); Julia Pelzel (11:30 a.m. Saturday); Eric Braun (2 p.m. Saturday); Kate Snyder (4:30 p.m. Saturday).

Minnesota State Chancellor Devinder Malhotra will greet the candidates at Friday’s 5:30 p.m. ceremony. Kathy Sheran, a member of the Board of Trustees for the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities, will greet the candidates at Saturday’s 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. ceremonies.

Brian Zins, a 2002 Minnesota State Mankato graduate and director of Alumni Relations, will welcome new graduates to the association. President Edward Inch will present diplomas to the new graduates.

Student speakers for Friday’s ceremonies will be Manav Mendonca at 3 p.m. and Reauna Stiff at 5:30 p.m.

Student speakers for Saturday’s ceremonies will be Rishab Humagai at 9 a.m., Kaitlyn Kaus and Jade Christiansen at 11:30 a.m., Nkeiru Adoga and Dylan Van Dam at 2 p.m. and Morgan Benson and Philip Khemphomma at 4:30 p.m.
