Welcome… I’m your LCC, Connor Cheney!

I am so excited to meet you the fall.  I will be a resource for you as you navigate through your first year of college here at Minnesota State University, Mankato!  Being involved with the Esports and Gaming learning community will help you academically as well as socially, so utilize me and your peers as much as you can!

Major: Criminal Justice/Geography

How/what made you decide this major?  I decided to double major for my time here in Mankato. I picked criminal justice because I am planning on going into the criminal justice field after college and geography because it interests me. 

Year in School: Sophomore

Hometown: Eden Prairie, MN 

Favorite Food: Pizza

Advice for LC Students: Don’t be afraid to ask for help or ask any questions. I recommend putting yourself out of your comfort zone to find new interests or friends. Don’t procrastinate, get things done right away if you can. The first year of college seems like it is scary, but you’ll eventually find out how fun and exciting it can be. 

Smartest thing you ever did/best decision you ever made: One of the smartest things I’ve done is making a planner each month which really helps me focus on the day to day things.

Favorite thing about MSU: I love all the fun events on campus and the friendly people you can meet.

Campus/LC Involvement:  I am the Learning Community Coordinator for the Esports and Gaming LC and I work for University Security as a Student Lead Officer.

Favorite thing to do in Mankato: I love going downtown to a Café called River Rock, they make really good coffee and is a great place to study.

Favorite things to do outside of school/coursework: I love playing video games in my free time.

Anything else we should know about you? I am originally from Arizona and moved about 3 years ago.
