Welcome... I'm your LCC, Brooke Andel!

I am so excited to meet you the fall.  I will be a resource for you as you navigate through your first year of college here at Minnesota State University, Mankato!  Being involved with the RISEbio Learning Community will help you academically as well as socially, so utilize me and your peers as much as you can!

Major: Biomedical Sciences  

Minors: Spanish and Chemistry 

How/what made you decide this major? All throughout high school I have always wanted to go into the medical field and become a doctor of some sort so choosing my major in biomedical sciences was the best option for me since it will help prepare me the best for when furthering my education on after my bachelor’s degree! 

Year in School: Sophomore 

Hometown: Sartell, Minnesota 

Favorite Food: Salads 

Advice for LC Students: Try something new! College can be intimidating and getting out of your comfort zone can be hard, but this is the time for you to experience it all! Soak up all the experiences you get here and continue to get involved with different things because you never know until you try! 

Smartest thing you ever did/best decision you ever made: Choosing to join the RISEbio learning community my first year of college. 

Favorite thing about MSU: My favorite thing about MSU is the campus and atmosphere! In my opinion, our campus is the perfect size and has everything to offer. It may seem confusing at first, but I promise once you start to learn your way around it has such great aspects to offer!  

Campus/LC Involvement:  I am a current RISEbio student who does undergraduate research with Dr. Cohen! I am also a student in the Honor's program here at MSU. I also am in pre-med club, and I play intermural volleyball with my friends through the year.  

Favorite thing to do in Mankato:  I love to go to the local coffee shops downtown and hiking on some of the trails here in Mankato. 

Favorite things to do outside of school/coursework: Outside of school, I enjoy hanging out with friends, I love being outside, working out, doing yoga, reading, and traveling. 

Anything else we should know about you? Some fun facts about me is that I love coffee, I am a vegetarian, and I am a sculpt yoga instructor!
