Hamdi Elnuzahi, Assistant Director for Sponsored Students
Hi! I am Hamdi Elnuzahi, one of the Assistant Directors in the Kearney Center for International Student Services at Minnesota State University. I am originally from Sudan and in 2008, I moved to the United States and continued my higher education at Minnesota State University Mankato graduating in 2011 with a degree in Aviation Management, and a Masters of Public Administration in 2013 along with a Certificate of Public Management. I began a graduate assistantship in the Department of Aviation advising and recruiting the Saudi students. This led to teaching an Aviation Terminology class which I designed and is being taught each semester. In 2015, I got my second Masters in Multi-Cultural and Ethnic Studies from Minnesota State University. Traveling and living in different countries gives me the ability to understand different cultures and to communicate with people from these cultures, i.e., Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Bahrain, Ivory coast and North African countries, like Egypt, Morocco. Because of these experiences and cultures, I enjoy working in the Kearney Center for International Student Services at Minnesota State University and enjoy meeting students. Living in Mankato and experiencing the snow has given me the strength and patience to motivate myself and others. I like to be generous with my friends whom I consider a part of my family. Stop in and see me in the Kearney Center, join me for dinner as I enjoy cooking and eating, and I love meeting others and making new friends. I will always be a student and am working on my Ph.D. in Strategy Planning and Crises Management in one of the Sudan University’s called Al-Neelain University in Khartoum City.
