Admission requirements –
1. Admission to Major is granted by the department.
- Degree Requirements & Policies
Minimum University admission requirements are:
1. a minimum of 32 earned semester credit hours
2. a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 (C)
Entering music majors and minors are expected to have substantial musical experience performing with church or school ensembles, or as a soloist. Before admission to the major or minor, music literacy (the ability to read musical notation) must be demonstrated. Though Minnesota State Mankato does offer a course in basic music-reading skills, it is strongly advised that you begin those studies prior to arriving. - Is the Music Industry for Me?
