College Recovery Community (CRC) Meetings
CRC meetings are held every Thursday night at 8:00 PM (during the academic year) in the Centennial Student Union (CSU). During the meetings, members have the opportunity to socialize, plan recovery-supportive activities, network with others to attend events, learn about recovery resources, give and receive support for recovery, share successes and struggles in maintaining recovery, identify needs for sustaining their recovery, and more. These meetings are open to all Mankato area college students.
College Recovery Community Recognized Student Organization (RSO)
Join other students who are in recovery as part of our Recognized Student Organization. The mission of the student organization is to provide regular opportunities to engage is sober activities and support meetings and provide opportunities for fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual progress among members.
Peer-Based Recovery Mentoring
Minnesota State University, Mankato students have the opportunity to be paired with another student who has longer-term sustained recovery. Much like a sponsor, a peer-based recovery mentor can help to navigate the campus environment, assist in accessing campus and local resources, provide accountability to sustain recovery, serve as an advocate and support person.
Faculty-Based Recovery Mentoring
Minnesota State University, Mankato students have the opportunity to be paired with a faculty member who is in recovery or who is recovery-friendly. Faculty-based recovery mentors are excellent resources as they understand the college environment and can assist students in achieving academic success while supporting their recovery.
On-Campus Roommate Matching
For Minnesota State University, Mankato students who live in an on-campus residence hall, we can coordinate with the Department of Residential Life to connect your with potential roommates who are also in recovery. Contact us for more details.
College Recovery Learning Communities
Based on interest, we are able to facilitate opportunities for new Minnesota State University, Mankato students who are in recovery to participate in general education courses with other students in recovery. This cohort opportunity allows students to complete some of their initial coursework with others who share the common bond of recovery.
