The following panelists have written about their organizations' outreach efforts to children and teens who stutter. After you have read their papers, they are willing to discuss their ideas and programs for children/teens with participants in the ISAD conference.

• Sveriges Stamningsföreningars Riksförbund by Anita S. Blom. Anita is a person who stutters, a mother who was born and raised in the Netherlands, but now married and living in Sweden. She works as a secretary and as one of the leaders of the camps for children who stutter organised by Sveriges Stamningsföreningars Riksförbund, SSR. She states, "I have stuttered since I was 9 and had a troublesome youth, but this helped me to become active at the local chapter, the national board and on European level to help people to feel the world is at their feet.

• Friends by Lee Caggiano. Lee is the mother of an adolescent who stutters and a Speech Language Pathologist. She has served on the Board of Directors of the National Stuttering Project, Chaired the Youth Programs Committee, and organized and facilitated the Youth Day activities at the annual conventions. Most recently, Lee has co-founded FRIENDS, the Association for Young People Who Stutter. Caggiano has developed and facilitated workshops and conferences for children and adults who stutter, their families and clinicians. She has presented at NYSSHLA, ASHA and IFA conferences.

• L'Association des jeunes bègues du Québec (AJBQ) - Rachel Fortin termine présentement sa maîtrise en orthophonie à l'Université de Montréal. Elle se consacre depuis plusieurs années à l'Association des jeunes bègues du Québec (AJBQ). En effet, elle a travaillé 2 étés à l'association grâce à un programme gouvernemental pour étudiants pour ensuite siéger un an sur le conseil d'administration en tant qu'administratrice. Depuis juin 2000, elle occupe le poste de vice-présidente sur le conseil d'administration et prendra également le poste de conseillère scientifique sous peu. Elle est responsable à l'AJBQ du programme de parrainage entre des jeunes bègues en contrôle et des bénévoles étudiantes en orthophonie et assume certains suivis téléphoniques pour répondre aux questions du public, dont des parents d'enfants bègues. Rachel Fortin a participé à 5 thérapies intensives de fluidité et une partie de son internat à la maîtrise s'est effectué en bégaiement à l'Hôpital Ste-Justine.
  (Translation: Rachel Fortin is presently completing her Masters Degree at the Université de Montréal. She has devoted several years of her time for the Association des jeunes bègues du Québec. In fact, she worked on a subsidized summer student program for the last two years. She is now vice-president in the administrative counsel and will also soon take the position of scientific counsellor. She is responsible for regenerating the Follow-up support program that involves young stutterers in control of their speech and volunteer speech therapy students as well as answering the numerous questions from concerned parents with children who stutter. Rachel Fortin has previously participated in five intensive speech therapy sessions given by the Association and has interned in stuttering for her Masters at the Hôpital Ste-Justine.)

• Stuttering Foundation of America by Jane Fraser. Jane graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a BA in Russian studies. Graduate work at Universite de Strasbourg, France, in Russian and Linguistics. Has been president of the Stuttering Foundation since 1981. She serves as a member of the Advisory Council of the National Institute of Deafness and Other Communicative Disoders from 1996-2000. From 1978-1980, worked as editor in cancer research, Institut Gustave Roussy, Villejuif, France. From 1975 to 1978 worked as interpreter and translator, Assemblee Nationale (Congress), Paris, France. She has been Trustee of Hamilton College, Co-chair, Parents Association, Pitzer College. Member of the Societe Francaise de Phoniatrie, and IALP.

• National Stuttering Association by Nina Reardon. Nina is a school-based itinerant and private practice speech-language pathologist. She is involved with the National Stuttering Association as a member of the Board of Directors where she serves a dual role as Chair of both the Family Programs Committee and Professional Relations Committee.
