I am also an undergraduate SLP student at the College of Saint Rose. I found your article very insightful and I thank you for taking the time to help educate many future SLP's that don't have personal experience with stuttering. In your article you talk about your use of avoidance behaviors caused you to become a "walking thesaurus." I was wondering whether you think that teaching clients who stutter a wide range of vocabulary, with different phonological patterns, could help them in accepting their stutter, or if it would just be aiding their avoidance and anxiety of certain words. Thank you for taking the time to read my response.
