From that first evening eight years ago, Alan, when we drank beers and shared a 4-hour dinner in San Francisco, I have been marveling at your talent with words. For those who don't know, Alan completed the McGuire Programme and he came to San Francisco three months after his graduation. I'll tell you, it was like the dam had burst. He had so much to SAY. Alan was, and is, a remarkable conversationalist. I can hardly believe that you struggled with speaking for half a century. Well, thank goodness you're no longer depriving the world of your wisdom...and wit. I can't wait until our next phone call.
