Judith, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your paper about stuttering and Down Syndrome. I found it interesting that for the most part, the clients displayed repetitions, shame, and avoidance behaviors with little evidence of prolongations and blocking. Did you find more evidence of prolongations and blocking with the older clients you dealt with as compared to the younger, beginning stutterers? Or did the avoidance behaviors arise without an increase in the more 'severe' types of stuttering (prolongations and blocks)? Thanks! Linsey Cushing (grad student)
