Hello, Thank you. Initially, you see more repetitions (words, phrases, and initial sounds) because of the basis of stuttering which is language formulation problems. Shame can arise at this level and then more severe stuttering would occur involving blocking and prolongation. If you worked on the SHAME of Stuttering, then you could go back to more of the Language Formulation kind of stuttering with minimal fear and avoidance. That is where you want to be for functional communication. Judith
