Hello, With normally developing children and Downs Children, parents want a "cure". They don't want their children to stutter. Sometimes, these parents can be very aggressive but always remember it is NOT aimed at you but rather is part of the MOURNING PROCESS. In dealing with echolalia or reauditorization, you are working with a person who is having difficulty processing verbal information. The ideas of slowing rate of speech and adding more pause time can aid both fluency and auditory processing skills. Thank you. Judith
