Hi! I am a graduate student in New York and I am taking a stuttering class this semester. I very much enjoyed your article on treating children and adolescence with DS who stutter. I have worked with children with DS for a number of years (on and off) but I the thought of a DS child who stutters has actually never entered my mind. What I wanted to know was if you find it difficult to treat children with DS in terms of their doing exercises at home, if they are diligent or do you find that most of the time they don't care to practice and get over their stuttering? Also, from your post, it seems to be that the age of onset of stuttering for children with DS seems to be later than typically developing children. Do you suppose why this could be?
