I agree that Starkweather's Capacities and Demands model truly makes sense for children with Down's Syndrome. These children's demands far outweigh their capacities, and I am sure they feel an extreme sense of pressure since they do not begin using 2-3 word utterances until approximately eight years of age. With your experience, have you noticed that children with Down's Syndrome who begin stuttering at that age typically recover from stuttering?
