I would just like to start by saying thank you for this article. It was working with Children who had downs that pushed me to change my major to Speech Lanaguage Pathology and it is my goal to continue working with children who has special needs. I have to be honest and say that I never thought of stuttering as being a problem for a child with DS. After reading your article and seeing the references that you have provided I understanding that this is an issue and one that I should recognize my self with. Do you feel that many SLPs working with children with Downs may over look the stuttering problem and just focus on the their language development? Is there national support for educating SLPs on Children with special needs who stutter? Thank you. J. Worrall Minn. State - Mankato Undergrad
