Hello, I'm sure there are Special Education programs that do not focus on the stuttering in Downs Children and focus on functional language and articulation. However, parents of Downs Children can be very aggressive and group together and could push a school district into supplying therapy for stuttering. In working in the schools, each SLP is differently trained and that determines how Downs children are treated. The power of the parents can greatly influence the direction of treatment. Thank you. Judith
