I am a Speech Language Pathology graduate student at New York University and currently taking a "Fluency" (stuttering) course. In a addition, I have a friend whose 27 year old daughter has Down Syndrome. Her daughter seems to have more fluency breaks when trying to produce bilabial and velar sounds. She is not considered "high functioning" but is quite verbal once she gets to know you. What are some things we may do or say to encourage her to express herself around more people? Thank you for your time and attention.
