Mark, this is a great paper. It answers many questions that I've had over the years as a PWS or at least gives me a framework for examining things. When I stutter I tend to feel as though some outside agent has taken control of my mouth and when I stutter covertly it feels as though the same agent has taken control of some part of my thought processing. My concern, as a speech pathologist, is that the scheme you outline will, once again, give stutterers back to the psychologists for treatment, at least when anxiety is involved and, perhaps, for the initial diagnosis. How do you see such a scheme as coming under the guidelines generally set forth for speech pathologists to follow? 1
