Ed, further to my promise to put together thoughts on PTSD. Anxiety disorders are often conceptualized as existing on a spectrum and therefore to some extent all could potentially be involved for pws. However the characteristics of PTSD are that the person has directly experienced or witnessed a traumatic event. Symptoms of intense fear, helplessness or horror must last more than one month. That description does not fit with stutering as well as SAD does in my view. SAD like stuttering is situationally specific, but more significantly to my point stuttering is already recognised as a potential symptom of SAD, and vice-versa. Larry Molt 2003 online conference paper on this subject is instructive.
