I found the analogy to be very eye-opening, because it is hard for any individual who does not stutter to relate to a fellow friend, sibling, or relative who does. Since most people who stutter do not show their true stuttering, it is difficult to see the strain and emotions that one goes through. I also can imagine how difficult it must be on a child who stutters when the parents are not aware of the underlying aspects. Do you think it would be important for both the child and the parents to join in on the therapy session when introducing and discussing the clients main concerns, or should these analogies be used separately in order to elicit the feelings from both the parents and the child separately (assuming they both have different outlooks upon stuttering)?
