Jenna, Welcome to the ISAD conference, and thank you for your comment. Sometimes, it is not possible to ask our clients to stop speaking one of their languages. Often, they need to speak both, so it is encouraging that bilingualism does not seem to pose a hazard for achieving fluency. We need to remember that fluency is only one alternative end goal. Effective communicaton is another. Many people who stutter, in one or more langauges, have learned to be effective communicators. B Humphrey
