Thank you very much Dr. Humphrey and Dr. Shenker. Your article was very interesting and informative. I am a graduate student pursuing my master’s degree in speech language pathology. Bilingualism is one of my favorite topic and so is fluency. I had never thought of looking at them together being bilingual myself as well. Your article has provided me with an insight into the area and has also raised a few questions in my mind. Can it be possible that a person who stutters is fluent in one language and dysfluent in another? Does being bilingual contribute to the onset of stuttering? Are bilinguals assessed differently than monolinguals? Does the clinician have to assess both languages in order to come to a diagnostic decision? Thanking you. Kind Regards, Fatemah Gulamhussein
