I am a first year SLP graduate student at Long Island Univeristy- C.W. Post and I am currently taking a fluency course. I thought your research was very interesting and everyone's comments and questions are great. I think that it is important for parents to be cooperative and interested in being apart of their child's therapy. However, what do you do when the parents do not have as much time to participate in the therapy plan (i.e. using the Lidcombe Program at home)? Have you used any other methods or programs for therapy (not involving the parents) and tested the affect that bilingualism may have on the clinical outcome of stuttering children? Thank you for your time and great article in advance. I look forward to reading your responses.
