No, I do not know the theory behind it, but if you want to read studies about choral reading, enter key words "choral reading" in and and in enter the key words "choral reading" +stuttering OR stammering I also cited several places in my text that refer to choral reading. When I try to tie choral reading to a "stuttering theory or model" the first theory that comes to my mind is Sheehan's idea that part of the problem of stuttering is a "role conflict." When choral reading, the individual "role" is no longer there. There are probably other theories as well. About using choral reading in therapy, "diminishing the amount of choral production that occurs until a person achieves fluency without choral production" is in fact what is typically done. It can even be done using the online speeches while the individual reduces the volume.
