Very interesting topic! I am currently a senior pursuing a career in speech-language pathology and am always encouraged and excited to read different therapy techniques. I understand that pausing slows down speech resulting in improved intelligibility, but can pausing negatively affect the second part of the sentence once the individual has stopped and begun to speak again? Have you encountered any individuals that have implemented the “Power of the Pause” technique and noticed a struggle to produce words after the pause?
