Hi David Dalyfrom, Very interesting article! Have you found that those clients trying “the power of the pause,” have trouble implementing this in everyday life? Have you found that when the speaker pauses, the listener takes that as an indication that they need to say something and interrupts the flow of conversation? I also wanted to ask what would you recommend an SLP to do in order to make therapy interesting and fun yet still be firm, demanding, and persistent to sticking to the task. For a younger client do you think a game like “freeze” could be incorporated into taking pauses? Any advice on this subject is greatly appreciated!
