I think that most experts would agree that cluttering tends to increase when the individual is not self monitoring as much as they might elsewhere. (This is certainly what happens with my own cluttering.) Re stress: like so many factors about cluttering, I don't think we can be certain about these possible effects... depending on the level and the type of stress, this can, in my own case, sometimes lead to heightened awareness and therefore improved speech, but if there is stress together with time pressure and competing demands, that definitely has a detriminental effect. David
