Perhaps the key to this Q, "is it that clutterers are defined by disorganized language (DL) or that DL is likely to co-occur," lies in the nature of the revisions that people who clutter produce. We know that people who clutter show more maze-like productions which would count against them according to Loban's (1976) norms for number of mazes per Communication Unit , i.e., a language measure. But this is a difficult issue within cluttering. So maybe the type of revisions, not the number, that might be useful in clarifying this issue. Perhaps people who clutter-only produce more revisions that are phonetic, whereas people who clutter with concomitant LD produce more syntactic, semantic, pragmatic revisions.
