I am also pondering over the notion that a few instances of cluttered behavior is sufficient for the diagnosis of cluttering. Klaas Bakker and I have been thinking quite a bit about capturing cluttering using a perceptual rating scale, as we feel that cluttering assessment is largely a perceptual task -- because there are multiple facets to cluttering that can interact influence our perceptions. At least in one version of the assessment tool, Klaas had been working on getting % talking time that is perceived to be cluttered. Many of us are subject to occasional (typical) disfluencies, slurring of a word here or there, or speaking a bit fast or with irregular cadence---as when we have a very complex tale to tell in a short period of time in a distracting discourse context. Would that define us as PWC? Time and research will tell.
