There are "spin offs" to this analogy: losing control of the car (our speech) when we drive (talk) too fast; not having enough time for reaction time to correct the steering (of the car, of the speech helpers); not having time to watch for signs (on the road, or feedback of our speech mechanisms), etc. Florence
