You can definitely use this for longer speech. Generally, I don't do this with reading, simply because I have found that reading reduces rate in general. I will have the child tell me stories though. I either show them a picture or just ask them to tell me about their favorite movie/book/superhero/princess, etc. This is by far the easiest way to generalize "dot talking." Thanks so much!
