Thank you for this insight, Dr. Scott. I suspect that tuning into listener feedback and the subsequent reinforcement of fewer, or at least less predominantly frustrating exchanges could go a long way in encouraging/empowering clients. I wonder: do you think this is a new skill for most clients, as opposed to one they have ceased to use as a result of seeing the quizzical expression so regularly and for so long? Either way, I suppose if the client can learn/relearn to tune in, it wouldn't matter! Thanks again for your article!
