Emily, Thanks for your question. I would say that the similarity that exists between treatment for cluttering and stuttering would fall mainly in the fact that one might focus on self-monitoring skills. With a child who only stutters, I might address eye contact, though for different reasons, and I would not likely be focusing on "clear speech". I do try to use very direct and clear feedback with a child who stutters, as with Claudia, although I might be telling them, "I like the way you thought about what you wanted to say before starting talking", or "you remembered to use easy talking", if I wanted to encourage the child to include some wait/planning time in speaking or use less tension while talking. So, while there might be some similarities, I think the overall approaches have a different focus. Best regards, Lynne
