Tamar, Good question. At this point, Claudia will correct her unclear speech almost all of the time when she gets a social cue ("What", "huh", or a nonverbal cue if she happens to be looking at her listening partner). She still needs additional cues--more overt comments such as "I can't understand you" or "can you say that using clear speech" about 15-20 percent of the time. While she does not recognize her errors often without some sort of cue from her listener, she is so much more attentive to normal listener cues, that this has helped her to communicate much more effectively than in the past. So, while she has quite some way to go to develop that level of self-awareness, she is aware enough to respond quite quickly when she gets an indication from the listener that she hasn't been clear. I hope I've answered your question. Thanks, Lynne
