Helene, A language disorder is a result of an error pattern in either the encoding or decoding of meaning. A speech disorder is an error in the correctly coded message. I hope that this helps. My description was simplistic in nature, but we can talk more about this if it does not clarify the differences for you. Thanks for responding. John T.
