My name is Kristin Nestor, and I am a graduate student in speech-language pathology at West Virginia University in the United States. I am currently enrolled in an Advanced Stuttering course. I found your paper to be extremely informative. It was interesting to read about the views of your culture as to the cause and treatment of stuttering. Many people in the United States also believe the misconception that one can "contract" stuttering, as if it were a disease, from socializing with a stutterer and eventually learning that behavior. I found it intriguing that our cultures had parallel views concerning this issue. Thank you for sharing your culture, as well as this paper.
