Hi Kevin, You know, I wondered the same thing myself! It's real important that adults wait and wait and wait for children to say what they are thinking about. When adults wait and wait, kids come up with surprising ideas - like this story. That's why we taught the children about "brainstorming." When people brainstorm, nobody makes any judgements about whether an idea is 'good' or 'bad' or 'stupid' or 'awesome.' Everyone just says what's on their mind. Brainstorming is supposed to help people say what they think without worrying what everybody else will say about it. That's where the ideas come from. You can try brainstorming with your friends, your family, your teacher. It's a cool way to find solutions to problems.
