Thank you so much for sharing that story! I am a senior with the intent to graduate with a degree in Early Childhood and a minor in communication disorders. Your story had a lot of useful insight for me, as a future teacher. Many children believe that their speech shapes who they are, however, the people around them, especially innoccent young children, have the ability to see past that. I was wondering, and I know you touched on it some in your story, but did this experience at your reunion make you feel better about the fact that people did not remember you for your stuttering, or did it make you feel, well worse, for lack of a better term? I get the impression that you showed up to this reunion thinking that you were going to be remembered as the "kid who stuttered" and I am just wondering, besides being shocked, if you were relieved or upset? Once again, thank you so much for sharing this experience!
