Hi Holly, -------------- Ah yes, that's a perfect analogy! Let me be honest. I've never had any particular dental problems so I really could care less about your teeth. You're making a mountain out of a molehill. I remember you in high school and I always had somewhat of a crush on you. You were so nice to me! Remember the time in English class when I stuttered and Mrs. Dunbar accused me of cheating - and YOU defended me? I'll never forget that. And remember the time on the choir trip when we sat on the bus and talked the whole trip? That was such a special time for me... I remember you were such a good debater too. I always rooted for you! -------------- Your teeth? Uh... I'm sorry, I just don't remember anything about that. Gosh I remember you had the nicest smile. But I do remember the time we had so much fun at the basketball games.... -------------- Sound a little familiar? Obviously that was a made up story but it could just as well been true. That's exactly what happened to me. People remember how you affected THEM. As your perceived problems really didn't affect them, those memories faded quickly into insignificance. As important and image threatening our own problems were to us, other people just don't remember those things. Kinda humbling, isn't it? -------------- Good observation, Holly! I hope you are enjoying the conference.
