Hi Lana, ------- Thanks for your kind words. Has it been easy for me? Ha! Accomplishing anything significant is never easy. And that's really a relative question. I didn't have dirt poor and abusive parents which I know other people had. My parents were relatively well off and had my interests at heart. Granted they were strict and didn't understand my stuttering very well, but nobody back in the 1950's did either. So I can't complain. Of course it hasn't been easy - the growing up process for nearly everyone isn't easy. It's been said that whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. That's certainly been the case with me. ------- How about YOU? Without even knowing you, I'd bet you a steak dinner that your life hasn't been easy. I know you don't stutter, but unless I miss the mark widely, I'll bet you have your challenges too. Am I right? Please let me know. <smile> (I'll take mine medium rare please... Ha, ha, ha!) ------- On this exact subject, please read Anita Blom's article at http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/isad7/papers/bridgebuilders7/anita7.html I just read that one this morning and I think that probably addresses your question far more eloquently than I ever could. ------- Good luck in school Lana. I hope you are enjoying this wonderful conference! ------- Russ, RussHicks@mail.com, Dallas, Texas, 972-881-1451 home, 972-489-6169 cell, My home page: http://www.RussHicks.com NSA home page: http://www.WeStutter.org
