The answer is very simple: No. Of course a lot of people DID remember my stuttering, but it simply fell into the category of "Did you wear glasses in high school?" or "Remember my braces?" Well gee... those kinds of things are really so insignificant that even it they DID remember it about someone, it was a nit. ------- Commenting on it? Look at it this way: If you remembered someone wearing glasses in high school, would you be interested in spending your high school reunion talking about glasses? Gag me! People who stutter tend to think that just because people don't mention it, it's just because they're being nice and don't want to embarrass you. But the fact of the matter is the subject of stuttering is BOOOORING to most people! I know, I know, it's hard to accept, but it's true. People are FAR more interested in their own stuff - problems, successes, adventures, etc. - than they are in yours. ------- That fact leads to the next level of truth: To be a good conversationalist, ASK ABOUT THEM! They'll open up to you like you wouldn't believe and they'll think you're wonderful! <grin> Talk about things that interest them - and, sorry guys, stuttering is just not on that list.
