Mike, I am a graduate student in speech-language pathology and I'm currently taking a fluency class. I really liked your article - I found it gave me something to think about- focusing on the positive. I know sometimes we get caught up on focusing on the negative- trying to "fix" the persons speech and forgetting to actually see the whole person and focus on the positive aspects of themselves. What advice could you give me when talking/conducting therapy with a client who stutters? What could I tell or do to help them to focus on the positive rather than the negative aspects of stuttering?
