Becky, Thanks for your question. I think that the activities may vary in their impact on different SLPs. In general, I would say that any time you involve yourself in gaining information about stuttering, and interacting with children who stutter and their families, you are likely to become more comfortable with stuttering and, therefore, more confident about your own ability to be a part of an intervention team. I know that the informational sessions, where SLPs learn about intervention techniques, has proven to be quite helpful to clinicians in terms of giving them specific tools to use in their treatment. Personally, I find that I still learn from our workshops, from the children, the parents and siblings, and the other facilitators. Perhaps others of our team may have other input for you.
