Thanks for your question, Brittiana. You might want to ask this on the "The Professor Is In" thread to get a more comprehension response. I will say that the evidence is that children do not typically stutter as they are learning language. True, many children do go through a period of developmental disfluency, but this is quite different from stuttering behavior. The preschoolers who attend the Friends and Family Day have been diagnosed with stuttering. Our activities provide support within the dynamic of the group and are not intended to be "treatment". Having said this, most participants, children and adults alike, leave the workshop with a better understanding of stuttering and with more positive feelings. Susan
