Thank you for the article that you presented on tips to individuals who stutter in going after the job that they want. I am a graduate student studying to be a speech language pathologist at the College of Saint Rose. We have a fluency council at our College which provides individual and group therapy to individuals who stutter on a weekly basis. I will be using this article as a conversation topic within our adult group. We will be discussing the tips that you presented and addressing whether any of the individuals have used these tips in previous experiences or will use these tips in future experiences. Discussion will also focus on whether individuals within the group have gone after their dream (ideal) jobs as you said "in spite of (and even because of)" your stuttering. Do you think that you would be as successful today and in your career if you did not stutter? Or, do you think that "because of" your stuttering you had an extra drive to get where you are today? Thanks again for your informational and inspirational article. It will open up great discussion and motivation within our fluency council.
