Thanks for writing Tony. Fortunately, most people I have encountered have been very supportive of my choice to become a speech-language pathologist. In fact, many clients and colleagues really appreciate this fact. Unfortunately, a handful of “professionals” told me that I would not be able to be a speech pathologist as long as I was stuttering. I am glad I listened to the majority of supportive voices! When I was in my early twenties, I learned from my speech therapist and my friends in the stuttering self-help world that people who stutter can do anything they want to do in life and may do while stuttering. It feels good to say that again. Take care, Peter.
