Sarah, thanks for writing. I am so glad you are learning about “advertising” stuttering. It is such an important topic. Eric Jackson recently wrote a paper on this topic (available for free at www.journalofstuttering.com/1-3/Jackson.2006.JSTAR.1.114-118.pdf). At the core, the Dear Abby activity and advertising aim to help the client speak openly about stuttering and to explore stuttering. Thanks for pointing out the similarities! Peter
