M. Elias, thanks for writing. I have never used Dear Abby letters with an entire class, but I am a strong proponent of working with my students to put together classroom presentations. In my book, I have an activity titled “You Are The Expert” which discusses in detail how to facilitate a classroom presentation with students and classroom teachers. Available for free at (at www.journalofstuttering.com/1-1/Smollen.2006.JSTAR.1.29-32.pdf) is a wonderful article by Jill Smollen, MA CCC-SLP which discusses and describes a classroom presentation on stuttering.
