From my point of view 'stuttering' has not to be viewed as a taboo. Trying not to stutter makes the problem only worse. The only way to get control of it, is not to fight it. Most speaking "techniques" only have the effect of avoidance. Just think of the great poem "Changing the Words Around " by Alan Badmington from the last interenet conference!!! So the first thing to do is to step forward with your problem. It is a very important task of every person who stutters not to make it a taboo.
